WHY: A two day challenge followed by two days rest and relaxation
WHO: 15 key customers
WHERE: Canada
HOW: Delegates were split into teams and over the course of the two days weregiven a number of challenges to complete that each had a points value. Theseincluded driving themselves from the centre of Montreal into the heart of theLaurentians to a remote location; from here they had to navigate their way intothe forest and locate our wilderness lodge where they would spend the night.On the second day the teams hiked into the forest at sunrise where they werepicked up by helicopter and flown up north to compete in a Supercar Rally. Theirfaces as the helicopters landed were quite a picture!! They were then flown backto the resort of Tremblant where their final series of challenges awaited, includingwake boarding, rock climbing, mountain biking and luge before hotfooting it backto base to complete their challenge!! A two day rest at a fabulous boutique Hotelwith some massage and fine dining followed before their return to the UK.
A FAMILY FUN DAY
WHAT: A company family fun day
WHY: Reward for employees and their families
WHERE: Leicestershire, UK
WHO: 350 to include adults and children of all ages
HOW: SJ Events worked with the client to provide a fun mix of interactive activities, entertainment, catering, on-site management, security and medical cover.
The activity elements included a giant slide, trampolines, fun fair stalls, bucking bronco, face painters, and kids disco; whilst the grown ups enjoyed an open bar, rolling barbecue, live entertainment from a jazz trio and a homemade ice cream stall that kept both adults and children refreshed all afternoon!!
“TO THE EDGE OF REASON...” INCENTIVE
WHAT: Incentive / Challenge
WHY: To inspire and challenge delegates whilst creating a unique and memorable experience
WHO: 15 key clients
WHERE: Morocco
HOW: An incredible expedition across the Atlas Mountains and into the Sahara desert. During the week-long experience delegates drove themselves in 4x4 vehicles from Marrakech over the Atlas Mountains, across varied terrain into the Sahara. Here they camped in the desert and learnt essential survival skills. They also enjoyed a number of activities including camel trekking and sand boarding and came face to face with the local wildlife including snakes and scorpions before their return to civilisation. In Marrakech itself the group then competed in an exciting game of donkey polo and a number of aerial activities including zip wiring and tree climbing; before indulging in some true Moroccan Hospitality in traditional dress by the campfire!
A “BEST OF BRITISH” CONFERENCE
WHAT: Conference, product exhibition and two themed dinners
WHY: An annual Office Products conference for members and suppliers of a large buying group
WHO: 275 members and suppliers – mix of couples and individuals
WHERE: Blackpool
HOW: SJ Events worked with the client to fully embrace the theme of the event! The opening of the event saw a fancy dress Dinner where delegates dressed in a huge variety of costumes, from Robin Hood and Maid Marion and the Beatles to Hi de Hi, Little Britain and a group of “Chavs”!! The menu also incorporated the Best of British concept as delegates enjoyed bangers and mash followed by sherry trifle!! The theme extended into the business session with a fish and chip van and ice cream van outside the product exhibition as a fantastic alternative to the standard finger buffet; with cream teas served mid-afternoon. The event culminated in a “Last Night of the Proms” Black Tie Gala Dinner with entertainment from a live cabaret act performing all the 50’s and 60’s greats such as Doris Day, Judy Garland and Dusty Springfield.
“SPACE MISSION” PRODUCT LAUNCH
WHAT: Product Launch
WHY: To launch an online training portal for office products software tool
WHO: 50 key customers
WHERE: The National Space Centre, Leicester
HOW: SJ Events worked with the client to integrate the space concept into their product launch. Delegates were invited to a “Space Mission, should they wish to accept it” and the entire event was themed accordingly. Guests were greeted by a real life Space Man and identical twin Princess Leias on arrival and invited into the Rocket Tower for Space Cocktails and canapés. The Launch took place in the Space Theatre followed by a Space Mission using the client product as a key part of the activity. Guests then enjoyed a fabulous dinner in the Space Gallery with entertainment from Frank Carson.
“SUMMER TEAMBUILDING”
WHAT: Annual Team Day Out
WHY: Meeting and teambuilding day for a professional services firm
WHO: 50, mix of male / female colleagues
WHERE: Warwickshire, UK
HOW: SJ Events put together a selection of different activities designed to test different skill sets, ages and abilities ensuring that each member of the group would be able to contribute to the success of their team. Activities included some new and exciting challenges such as duck herding, rally karts, photo scrabble and hovercraft driving to complement the traditional archery, clay pigeon shooting and problem solving games. The event culminated in a Stomp Rocket Finale followed by a relaxed barbecue and a few beers in the summer evening sunshine!
